Pool skimmers and jets
Skimmers and jets are an essential part of every pool. They work in tandem to help keep the pool water clean and ensure proper water circulation.
The skimmer's job is to collect dirt from the surface before it sinks to the bottom, therefore preventing the formation of algae and microbes in the pool. The skimmer sucks the pool water into the filter unit and it then drains into a plastic container, which is usually located 5 to 10 cm below the pool's top edge. A coarse pre-filter (basket) is placed inside this plastic inlet, this basket retains coarser mechanical impurities. Then, water pre-purified in this way is pumped through the pump to the filter, and from there, the return nozzles return the water to the pool. Another important thing depends on the pool's specific shape, and that is where the return jets open. Generally, the nozzles should return the water 20 to 30 cm below the water level to circulate the water evenly in the pool.
The pool skimmer is made from white ABS. The skimmer consists of a so-called float door, which is located between the neck and the skimmer's suction opening. The skimmer's other components are the basket lid (plate) and the basket (strainer), these components prevent coarse dirt from entering the pool's filter circuit.

Pool nozzle specifications
The pool type and the required flow determine the number of inlets needed. The location of the inlets is also key, and thanks to this, uniform water circulation is created in the pool, therefore preventing the formation of dead spots.
For pools where skimmers are placed against the prevailing wind direction, it's advisable to position the return directions either on the opposite side of the pool or on the side wall.
Nozzles are installed into the pool wall. The nozzle is installed so that its centre is located 20-30 cm below the water level.
For pools that have an overflow channel (drainage channel, overflow channel), we recommend installing return inlets on the bottom of the pool or in the lower part of side walls. In this type of pool, nozzles are installed so that their centre is 20-30 cm from the bottom of the pool.
Types of pool nozzles
- flat nozzle
Space-saving due to the absence of an overflow grid
Lower purchase price
A pool vacuum cleaner can be connected to the skimmer
Higher maintenance compared to overflow
